Candidate Support Program - For NCAE members only. CSP Subscribers will have have access to a candidate support provider to ask questions and for readings, no charge for webinars (registration required), and a discount for Boot Camp.

Introduction to National Board Certification – Interested in the process?  Unsure if you’re ready?  Want to know more about how everything fits together?  We’ve got you covered! The Introduction Session has an overview of the process and the four components.  This session will be an opportunity for you to connect with a National Board Certified Teacher, who is trained to coach candidates through the logistics of certification. Free for NCAE members and non-members. 

National Board Standards - The 5 Core Propositions form the basis of National Board thinking. From the 5 Core Propositions, National Board developed Standards for each certificate area.  Learn how to work through the standards. The workshop will use the standard on Knowledge of Students. 

Jump Start Component 4 - The Jump Start series is designed to examine the thinking behind National Boards.  JSC4 will examine the forms for C4, the NB Standard on assessment, the C4 Scoring Rubric, and participating in learning communities. The series will be in 3 sessions with homework. 

Jump Start Component 3 - The Jump Start series is designed to examine the thinking behind National Boards. JSC3 will examine the directions for C3, thoughts on videotaping, a close read of the learning environment standard, and connecting standards to your written commentary.  

Fall Seminars - Interested in the process?  Unsure if you’re ready?  Want to know more about how everything fits together?  We’ve got you covered! Fall Seminars have a focus on the process with an overview of the four components, the Body of Knowledge, standards and writing.  This session will be an opportunity for you to connect with a National Board Certified Teacher, who is trained to coach candidates through the logistics of certification.  

NBC Boot Camp –   Ready to dig into your process and really get moving? Join us at Boot Camp! Candidates will be provided an opportunity to work, and will have NBCTs with a wide swath of expertise available to bounce ideas and critique products. Candidates are in the driver’s seat at Boot Camp! Two Day Session – 1.0 CEUs.  REGISTRATION COMING SOON! NCAE will provide:

• work space, including wireless internet and access to printers and copiers for those candidates needing to simply have time to work
• access to support coaches who are experienced in group settings and one-on-one appointments
• support sessions on topics such as understanding standards, unpacking components of National Board Certification, analyzing student work, and reflective writing
• lodging at double occupancy, plus most meals during Boot Camp

Spring Seminars  – Spring Seminar I has a focus on reading and coaching.  This session will be an opportunity for you to connect with a National Board Certified Teacher, who is trained to coach candidates through the writing of their components.  Registration will open soon.

Spring Seminar 1– NCAE regional sites across NC

Spring Seminar II is a guided-reading session, in which NBCTs lead candidates through the process of connecting their evidence to their standards.Registration will open soon.
